[Passion] In "Araby" James Joyce himself is a central character of his story. He is in a hot youth and cloudy mind which is full of foolish noise. His stream of consciousness becomes obvious when he tries to tame his wild heart at a bright butterfly's loving hand, waist and neck. He lives in a world of illusion. The destructive dream of love becomes the working week, Sunday rest, his noon, his midnight, his talk and his soul which full blown him a poisonous demon. He says, "But my body was like a harp and her words and gestures were like fingers, running upon the wires" and "O, love! O, love!"

[Visit] Little candle throws her beam on Araby and it begins to blaze. The desire of the moth for the Araby star made his Saturday Night a tearsnight, wailsnight, thumbs night fright night and shatter night. He with his shadow feels himself buried in the deep dark silent tomb of Araby.
